Cheer Team Bonding: Reflection Questions for Your Next Practice

If you are looking for intentional cheer team bonding, try these reflection prompts. These prompts ask cheerleaders to stop and reflect. Use these prompts before, during, or after cheer practice.

  • Name something or someone that you are grateful for.
  • Name someone on the team that you are proud of and explain why.
  • Name someone on the team that you look up to and explain why.
  • Name something that went well today at practice.
  • Name someone that made your practice better today and explain why.
  • Name your intention for this practice or game.
  • Name your goal for this practice or game.
  • Name something that you want to improve upon next practice.
  • Name a reason that you are proud of yourself.

There are a couple of different ways that you can structure this cheer team bonding activity.

  1. Instruct all cheerleaders to sit in a circle. Ask them all to answer one of these prompts.
  2. Instruct cheerleaders to find a partner. Ask them to share their answer to one of these prompts with their partner. Then have them switch partners and answer the same prompt or a different prompt. Repeat as many times as you have time for.
